Work Statement: For quite some time now, maps, the land, and components of architecture have been central to my inspiration and creative process. These elements come together and aid in my quest to create abstracted documentations of locations. While searching for a sense of place and belonging, I find myself using maps as a way to document time, space, and place.  My surroundings and reflecting on memories have influenced my work immensely throughout the years. Most recently I have been referencing these landscapes by sculpting crisp, angular forms in the hotshop, then further manipulating them in the coldshop. I think of these creations as a 3D canvas- abstract sculptures that are adorned with line and pattern with both visual and physical texture. Neighborhoods: Brooklyn Pink is a nod to the everchanging city I live in. With Melt, I hope to bring awareness to the impact climate change has on our planet.
