Work Statement: I made this series in reference to memories of solo walks through the woods and the appreciation for these small clusters of lichen and fungi growing on trees and rocks throughout the forest. These tiny organisms held such immeasurable beauty in my eyes.
Artist Bio: Elise Betrus is a mixed media artist currently residing in Americus, GA. Elise's work is inspired by her youth, growing up surrounded by nature in New York's scenic Adirondack Mountains. Elise is an employee at Mobile Glass blowing studios, where she has constructed hundreds of glass furnaces.
