Artist Statement: In Oral History I have manipulated castings of my own teeth, issues with which have followed me throughout my life. Memories attached to our teeth can be powerful, and are oftentimes visible, relating directly to an event or series of events; a chipped or missing tooth from an accident, a false or crowned tooth, the movement of teeth from braces, particularly painful experiences at the dentist’s office, etc. Our memories and personal histories can have physical connections to our bodies.
